Life Hurts.

Love Heals.

Youth Trauma Healing Camps

Leaving your home and moving to a new country is hard.

The Life Hurts. Love Heals. Youth Trauma Healing Camps are designed to help young refugees and asylum seekers understand loss and connect with God and other people from a similar situation.

Life Hurts, Love Heals is an interactive residential camp using an accredited program from the Trauma Healing Institute. This camp is run by Christian leaders for youth of all faith backgrounds.

Camp participants will be using stories from the Bible to reflect on and telling their own stories, they'll be connecting with their feelings and building skills to cope with the difficulties of life. It will also provide them with the opportunity to connect with others of similar age in a meaningful way. We promote a safe place for youth to begin to find healing from some of the hurts they have had in life. This healing comes through experiencing love from the group facilitators, from their peers, and from God.

During the camp there will be sessions addressing questions that youth sometimes struggle with;

  • Am I important to anyone?

  • If God loves me, why do I hurt so much?

  • How do I connect with my feelings?

  • How do I deal with my pain?

  • How do I deal with my loss?

  • What about my personal boundaries?

  • How can I tell my story?

  • Where can I take my pain?

  • How can I forgive?

  • How do I more forward?
